“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30: 5 KJV

Being no meteorologist or astronomer I must take the word of such folks that December 21 in the longest night each year. The long dark days this time of year can certainly challenge many of us emotionally and physically. I’ve had many long nights sleeping in the recliner thanks to unwillingly dwelling in the “pain pit” this month. I was overwhelmed though this morning when the Lord woke me with butter colored light filling our little sunroom. Moving out to the deck to catch the above glory reminded me of that beautiful verse, “Joy comes in the morning.” What a Blessing!
I just had to share that with you today because so many folks have those long, dark nights full of various issues, I might even say demons, that tempt us to give up, to question God’s grace.
My dear friends, don’t give up on our loving Lord no matter the temptation. He cares for us more than we can imagine and He came to give us Hope. He is Emmanuel, God With Us!
Know that He promises to be with us as He said, “I am with you always”. I am often been reminded that God always gives us what we need when we need it! That Hope is available to you too through knowing Him. Read or listen to His Word and gather strength to face whatever. He is with you. He is Emmanuel!

So just being open with you on this Lord’s Day, it’s kinda been a tough week in what I call “The Pain Pit”. This morning I was somewhat overwhelmed with pain after “wrenching my back” (as my Grandmother would have said it) last week. Honestly I was fretting over the pain and pending medical test results. I was also grieving over missing church services again and missing singing with my choir buddies, especially today as they sing and present the joyous news of the Savior.
Now with that said, let’s move to a more positive, hopeful note… One thing led to another and yet again, our loving Lord helped to pull my focus from that pit and think beyond my current situation. And I sincerely say, “Thank You Lord!”
Our Father God is so gracious and kind. He does not desire the hardships of life for us or for such things to overwhelm us. It’s just that we live in a fallen, sinful, hard, imperfect world and stuff happens. But I KNOW, and I do not just merely wish for this, I KNOW that my Father God is with me and wants to help me through my tough times.
God’s Word, the Scriptures, are filled with promises to remind us that He is faithful and is always with us. I could overflow this blog with all the ways God has eased my burdens throughout life. I could sing His praises until my dying days, although I doubt you’d care to hear my gravely voice 😉. I think though that today I will share these words from Isaiah …
“I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord,
the deeds for which He is to be praised,
according to all the Lord has done for us”
Isaiah 63: 7a (NIV)
Now, please allow me to add a word … here in the Southeastern United States we experience much beauty but also much severe weather even in the most unexpected times of the year. Sadly, the storms over the past 2 days wrought devastation and loss of life to the folks west and north of us. My heart is heavy for these who have experienced much loss of life and devastation. Please know, You folks in these areas remain in my thoughts and prayers. God is with you, through the storm and in it’s wake.
Dear friends, this life, although it can seem long and hard, is just a temporary season for believers in Jesus. There will be a new day, a new Heaven and a new Earth. My hope is in Jesus and the day when all things will be made new.
“Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelation 21: 3b-4
That, dear friends, is a promise! A New Day with no more tears, death, mourning, crying or pain … Praise You Lord!!! 🙌
Dear friends, wherever you are, whatever you are going through, our Father God is with you to help you along the way.
Thank You Lord for the promise of a New Day!!! 🙌🙌🙌

Just think, God the Father gave His only Son, to a world full of folks who had no idea they even needed Him, all because of love.
We still need Him.
We will always need Him.
And because of that love, we can know His presence now and forever.
For God so loved the world that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3: 16
Dear friends, this is a little tardy but here’s hoping you have a blessed season focused on the true gift of Christmas, Jesus! 🙂❤️
