You are Not Alone

And surely I am with you always… Matt 28: 20

You are not alone. No matter what the enemy whispers in your ear, you are not alone. Just before He ascended into Heaven, Jesus told His disciples “I am with you always”. He had taught them that a Comforter would come and He did! The Holy Spirit is here with us now! Praise God! We are not alone!

Through the years the Lord has comforted my heart with His presence while sick in many circumstances. One of the most vivid experiences though was years ago while hospitalized for asthma. I was having a hard time but seemed to be stable so, as I recall, I sent the hubby home to rest. I popped a CD of piano hymns into the portable CD player (remember those?) and put “His Eye is on the Sparrow” on repeat. I listened to that over and over while unbeknownst to me (and here I am a nurse!) my Oxygen started dropping. While laying there, I physically felt the Lord Jesus wrap His arms around me as His child and draw me close. He held me close and never let me go as my O2 level went lower. Even when the assistant told me the level was in the 80’s and I couldn’t lift a finger to call my husband, I wasn’t worried. God had me in His arms.

God brought me through that. Some may say I hallucinated. I beg to differ and to sing His praises. He was with me and I felt His love and comfort. I was never alone.

“Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy
I sing because I’m free
For His Eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
For His Eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.”

“His Eye is on the Sparrow” by Cevilla D Martin, 1905

I’ve shared that story with very few people because it’s very personal and it’s not an easy thing to say verbally. For some reason, The Lord wants someone to know this story, this experience, so that they too can know He “is always with you, even to the end of the earth”.

When circumstances make you feel isolated, know that you are not alone. Jesus said, “I am with you always”. Go to the Word. Listen to Christian music. The Holy Spirit will comfort you with His presence.

Blessings, Kim 💕
