“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary, and lose heart.” Hebrews 12: 2-3 NIV
When I wonder what else bad can happen in life, I try to remember what Jesus did for me. “Consider Him …” Jesus, our perfect and holy Lord, took on the sins of the world, the shame and the pain of it all, for me, for us, because He loves us! There is no hardship you or I can go through that compares. And He did that for our salvation and to help us “not grow weary and lose heart”.
Dear friends, we may get tired but let’s not grow weary and lose heart. I came across these verses while in search of another verse (I should know it’s location but my brain just won’t cooperate sometimes 🤦♀️😉 … ). But the Lord works in mysterious ways. While in search of that other verse, God pierced my heart with these verses. The enemy wants to keep us down in our life struggles. Here is where our hope really lies … keeping Jesus at the forefront … keeping our eyes on Him, our thoughts on Him, our prayers to Him, our goal to be like Him.
Dear friends, I encourage you to read these verses and the surrounding verses too! The Word of God, the Scripture, is our weapon against the enemy (check out Ephesians 6: 10-18… good stuff!). The enemy wants to keep us down, to oppress us, to hinder our walk with the Lord and ultimately keep others from seeing God in our lives. God is with us. He knows what we are going through and what we need to fight those battles. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus!
May the Lord bless, comfort and strengthen you. May you know His presence and your life be a witness to others of His love.
Kim 😊❤️
